Open a presentation online, free

Drop a PPT, PPTX or ODP here and the slides render in your browser. No PowerPoint, no sign-in, and your file is deleted after viewing.

Drop the file

From your computer or your phone

We render it

On our server, so nothing installs on yours

You read it

And your copy is deleted when you close it

What happens when you upload a deck

Rendering happens on our servers, not in a plugin on your machine. A Chromebook, a phone and a locked-down work laptop all show the same slides, and none of them needs a copy of Office to do it.

Slides arrive as they were authored: master layouts, embedded charts, tables and photographs, and the fonts the deck carries with it. Nothing is re-flowed to fit the browser window, so a slide that lined up in PowerPoint still lines up here.

Password-protected decks are accepted; enter the password when the viewer asks for it. When a file will not open at all, the cause is almost always an extension that does not match the contents, such as a Keynote export or a .zip renamed .pptx.

Once the deck is open you can move slide by slide, zoom, search the text on every slide, and print. Word, Excel, PDF and CAD files go through the same upload box, so a folder of mixed attachments does not need a second tool.

Slide by slide

Move with the arrow keys, or jump straight to the slide you were told to look at.

Opens in seconds

The work is done on our servers, so a 20 MB deck does not wait on your hardware.

Charts and layout intact

Tables, photographs, embedded charts and the deck's own fonts come through as authored.

Deleted after viewing

Your presentation is removed from our servers once you are done with it.

Someone sent you a deck and the machine in front of you has no PowerPoint. Upload the file here and the slides render in the browser in order, with the layout, fonts and images where the author put them.

Nine presentation extensions go through: .ppt, .pptx and .odp, plus the macro-enabled, slideshow and template variants .pptm, .ppsx, .ppsm, .pot, .potx and .potm. The upload ceiling is 20 MB. A deck built out of photographs reaches that long before a text-heavy one does, so if yours is refused, compress the images in the original and upload it again.

Your file is deleted after viewing. If you are here because your own application has to show a .pptx to its users, that is a different problem with a different answer: the Doconut SDK renders presentations on your server across 75 extensions, and the button at the foot of this page goes there.

The nine presentation formats this viewer takes

PowerPoint's own formats, the OpenDocument equivalent, and the template and slideshow variants Office saves alongside them. Up to 20 MB each.

.PPT

The binary format Office wrote until 2003, and what old decks and old email attachments still arrive as.

It opens here directly. You do not need a copy of Office 2003, or a conversion step, to read one.

.PPTX

The zipped XML format Office has written since 2007, and what most decks you are sent will be.

Charts, tables and media live inside the file itself, so nothing goes missing when it renders somewhere other than the author's machine.

.ODP

What LibreOffice Impress and OpenOffice save by default.

Read it as it is; there is no need to open it elsewhere and re-save it as .pptx first.

Where this comes up

A deck in your inbox

You were sent a proposal and the meeting is in an hour. Read it here rather than installing Office for one file.

Course slides

Lecture decks are large and almost always .pptx. They open on whatever machine you happen to have with you.

A file nobody can re-export

Someone sent a .ppsm and has gone quiet. Upload it and read it as it is, without asking them to save it again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe to view my PowerPoint document online?

The upload travels over HTTPS, and your PowerPoint file is reachable only through a random identifier your browser holds and nothing links to. It is deleted once you have viewed it, which is the part that matters most.

Does Doconut store uploaded PowerPoint files?

It's important to note that we do not store uploaded PowerPoint files after processing. It gets deleted as soon as it is viewed. You are requested to avoid uploading invalid format, corrupt or infected documents here.

Are there any limits to using Doconut.app to view PowerPoint files?

One PowerPoint file at a time, up to 20MB. That ceiling is set per format, so another viewer here may take more or less than this page does.

PUT THIS VIEWER INSIDE YOUR OWN APP

If your users have to open decks without leaving your product, the same rendering runs as a .NET SDK on your server: 75 extensions, your storage, your interface.
