Open an XML file online, free
You have an XML file and nothing on your machine that will format it. Upload it here and read it indented and color-coded.
Drop the file
From your computer or your phone
We render it
On our server, so nothing installs on yours
You read it
And your copy is deleted when you close it
What happens when you upload an XML file
Upload an XML file up to 5 MB and it renders in your browser — no editor to install, no account to create.
The document arrives indented, with elements, attributes and text values in different colors, even when the original was saved as one unbroken line.
Search jumps to an element name or an attribute value, zoom makes a deeply nested branch legible, and printing keeps the indentation you see on screen.
Your file is deleted after viewing, which matters when the XML is an invoice, a bank statement or an export from a live system.
Color-coded structure
Elements, attributes and values are drawn in different colors, so a one-line file becomes something you can actually read.
Zoom and navigate
Enlarge a deeply nested branch until the indentation is easy to follow, then move back out to the whole document.
Find a tag or a value
Search the whole document for an element name or an attribute value instead of scrolling until you spot it.
Print what you see
Send the formatted document to a printer, or save it as a PDF, with the indentation intact.
Deleted after viewing
Your XML is removed from our servers once you close the page.
An XML file is plain text, so almost anything will open it — and almost nothing will make it readable. Sitemaps, invoices, bank statements and application configuration files are usually written as one unbroken line, and a text editor shows you exactly that: a single line thousands of characters wide. Upload the file here and it comes back indented, with elements, attributes and values in different colors, so you can see where each branch begins and ends.
There is nothing to install and no account to create. The limit on this page is 5 MB per XML file, which is roomy for a feed or a config and tight for a full database export; if yours is larger, cut out the section you actually need before uploading it. Once the document is on screen you can search it for an element name or an attribute value, zoom into a nested branch, and print the formatted result.
If nothing renders, the file is almost certainly not well-formed: one unclosed tag or one unescaped ampersand is enough, because XML refuses what HTML quietly repairs. Export it again from whatever produced it and try once more. And if you are here because you will eventually need this same rendering inside an application of your own rather than in a browser tab, the Doconut SDK does it for 75 extensions across 18 families.
The format this page opens
One extension, XML. Every other format has its own viewer.
Extensible Markup Language — the text format behind feeds, sitemaps, invoices and configuration files
If the file opens with an XML declaration, this page will render it: an exported invoice, a sitemap, an application config, or a data dump from a system that had no other way to hand it to you.

Is it safe to view my XML document online?
The upload travels over HTTPS, and your XML file is reachable only through a random identifier your browser holds and nothing links to. It is deleted once you have viewed it, which is the part that matters most.
Does Doconut store uploaded XML files?
It's important to note that we do not store uploaded XML files after processing. It gets deleted as soon as it is viewed. You are requested to avoid uploading invalid format, corrupt or infected documents here.
Are there any limits to using Doconut.app to view XML files?
One XML file at a time, up to 5MB. That ceiling is set per format, so another viewer here may take more or less than this page does.
