How a Visio File Renders Here
A Visio drawing is shapes joined by connectors that stay attached when a shape moves, so rendering one is more than drawing lines on a page. Shape geometry, connector routing, fills, text blocks and page order all come back the way the author left them.
Multi-page files stay multi-page. A drawing with a summary sheet, several detail pages and a legend opens as those pages in order, not as one flattened image, so you can step through it the way it was meant to be read.
Layers come across as layers. Where the author separated annotations, dimensions or a background grid, you can switch those off and read what sits underneath — usually the reason a dense rack diagram or floor plan looks illegible at first.
Two things will stop a file. Anything over 25 MB is refused at upload, and a drawing that was password-protected in Visio cannot be opened here. For the first, resaving a legacy VSD as VSDX usually makes it smaller, because VSDX is compressed; for the second, ask the sender for a copy without the protection.
Any Diagram You Were Sent
Process flows, org charts, rack and network layouts, floor plans. It does not matter which stencil set the author drew with.
Zoom In on Small Labels
Connector labels are often set in 6 or 8 point. Scale up until they are readable, then pan across the rest of the sheet.
Turn Layers Off
If annotations or a background grid were put on their own layers, hide them and read the drawing underneath.
Find a Shape by Its Text
Search for a hostname, a step name or a room number and land on the shape that carries it.
Print the Sheet
Printing keeps the page size and the scale the drawing was laid out at.
Nothing Is Kept
No account, no email address: the drawing sits on our server only while you are looking at it.
Visio is licensed on its own rather than as part of Office, so a diagram usually arrives on a machine that has Word and Excel and nothing at all that will draw a VSD. Upload the file here and the drawing is rendered for you and returned to the browser as pages — no install, no sign-up, no trial.
Nine extensions are accepted: VSD and VSDX for drawings, VSS and VSSX for stencils, VST and VSTX for templates, VDX and VSX for the older XML variants, and VSDM for macro-enabled drawings. A VSDM is safe to open here because the page draws the shapes and never runs the macros stored beside them. The upload limit is 25 MB per file.
Your file is deleted from our server once you have viewed it, which is the part that matters when the diagram is a network map or the floor plan of a real building. And if what you actually need is this rendering inside your own application rather than in a browser tab, the same engine is sold as a .NET SDK on Doconut.com.
The Nine Extensions This Page Opens
Drawings, stencils and templates, in both the old binary format and the XML one that replaced it.
The binary format Visio used up to 2010
Most diagrams more than a few years old are still saved this way, and almost nothing outside Visio will read one — which is usually why you ended up on this page.
The XML format Visio has used since 2013
A zip archive of XML parts instead of one binary blob, which is why the same diagram is smaller as VSDX and why other tools can read pieces of it.

Is it safe to view my Visio document online?
The upload travels over HTTPS, and your Visio file is reachable only through a random identifier your browser holds and nothing links to. It is deleted once you have viewed it, which is the part that matters most.
Does Doconut store uploaded Visio files?
It's important to note that we do not store uploaded Visio files after processing. It gets deleted as soon as it is viewed. You are requested to avoid uploading invalid format, corrupt or infected documents here.
Are there any limits to using Doconut.app to view Visio files?
One Visio file at a time, up to 25MB. That ceiling is set per format, so another viewer here may take more or less than this page does.
NEED THIS INSIDE YOUR OWN APP?
The engine that rendered your file is sold as a .NET SDK. It draws VSD and VSDX to HTML or images on your own server, with no copy of Visio installed there.
